Activities

  • How can pupils tell the difference between wrong and right? Ask pupils how it is possible to tell if a decision is a good or bad one? How do they know? What will a bad decision look like? (CC: PSHE)
  • The book shows different things that we can do to show kindness. Discuss acts of kindness with pupils, and how important these can be. Can pupils think of acts of kindness for their friends? Can they think of acts of kindness they can do at home? (CC: PSHE)
  • Thinking of a decision pupils have made, can they draw their story to show what happened? (CC: Art)
  • Create a gingerbread character for one of the characters. On the inside describe their feelings, thoughts and emotions and on the outside describe their actions, behaviours and what they say. (CC links: English, PSHE) (Use ‘Gingerbread character’ resource)
  • After the story, ask pupils to pick their favorite part of the story. Why did they like that part? What happened in their own words? How did it make them feel?
